Welcome to the 2016-2017 NHS School Year

The New Hope School (NHS) Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) would like to take this opportunity to welcome each of you and your families to NHS for the 2016-2017 school year. We are very excited about the things that are in store for us this year, and we hope that you can be a part of it. The PTO is focused on building the kind of community where students and teachers can do their best work, and with your help, we can do it! Research demonstrates conclusively that regardless of income or background, when parents are involved, students are more likely to earn higher grades and test scores, enroll in higher-level programs, attend school regularly, have better social skills, show improved behavior and less discipline problems, graduate, and go on to postsecondary education, and the school as a whole becomes more successful.  By getting involved, you can help make the school a better place and help your child get a better education. Let’s all do our part and make NHS the best that it can be because…It Takes a Tribe!

Thanks to You

Our NHS PTO primary objective is to provide our school with funds, programs, resources and services that will enrich and maximize the education of every child. To meet this important objective, and afford services that are no longer covered by our school budget, we must fundraise. Though it may not be our favorite responsibility, it is a necessary one.

Thanks to your hard work and dedication last school year, the PTO was able to provide awesome assets to our school. Please check out the Did You Know page to see what your money did at NHS.

PTO Plans

The PTO plans to provide funds to our faculty and students when needed this school year, but our main two goals are to raise enough money to purchase new stage curtains for the auditorium stage and purchase an electronic marquee to keep you better informed on what’s going on at NHS. We feel that both of these items are vital assets to our school and the community.

In Conclusion

As you can see, we are a busy group. Our parent group is certainly more than fundraising! We’re about men and women working together toward a common goal. That goal, simply stated, is creating a better school and a better educational experience for our children. We strive to create an atmosphere where teachers, administrators, and support staff can do their best work – and so can our children. We need your help, and so do your children.
